Hotels and Accommodation on Tour

Hotel ratings and standards on tour

Accommodation on our group tours typically consists of a selection of 3 to 5-star hotels, and some itineraries may feature distinctive Inspiring Stays, which will be noted in the Inclusions section of the deal page when applicable.

It is important to note that accommodation standards can vary significantly by destination, particularly when compared to hotels in the western world. For instance, a 5-star hotel in Cairo may not offer the same experience as a 5-star hotel in Sydney, as star ratings are not standardized globally and can differ from one location to another.

In developing our itineraries, our knowledgeable Product Managers prioritize hotels that provide excellent value for money while ensuring a comfortable experience. This includes considerations of sleeping arrangements, hotel amenities, and the unique charm of the local area. We carefully assess each hotel to confirm they meet acceptable customer satisfaction ratings based on genuine feedback from our guests.

While we recognize that perceptions of hotel quality can be subjective, we greatly appreciate any feedback you may have regarding your hotel experiences, and we encourage you to share your thoughts with our team upon your return.

Location of hotels on tour

The location of hotels is influenced by the specific package you have chosen, the destination, and the standard of accommodation provided.

It is essential to understand that hotel locations can vary between different tours and cities. We recommend reviewing the typical hotels listed on the deal page on the website to set realistic expectations for your stay.

Our goal is to strike a balance between value for money, location, and overall experience, which may result in a diverse range of hotel properties and styles throughout your journey. This is particularly evident when transitioning from bustling urban environments to more remote areas.

Your tour leader will do their best to recommend nearby restaurants and convenience stores for your convenience. However, please note that in some instances, you may need to take a train or taxi to reach the city center or main attractions at your own expense.

Hotel tea and coffee facilities

The availability of these sorts of amenities depends on the destination, the hotel and the norms of the destination you are visiting.  While a 'standard' expectation in any hotel in Australia (for example), this is not always the case elsewhere and we’re unable to guarantee these facilities. If such facilities are a must-have, we recommend that you travel with your own tea or coffee and a small portable water heater, to ensure you do not go without.
