What is Extended Cancellation Terms? 

Extended Cancellation Terms adds an extra layer of security to your holiday by providing a full refund on funds paid towards your booking if you're unable to travel for any of the following reasons:

  • Illness / Injury*
  • Pre-existing Medical Condition*
  • Pregnancy Complication*
  • Death of Immediate Family*
  • Public Transport Failure*
  • Flight disruption*
  • Mechanical Breakdown*
  • Adverse Weather*
  • Home Emergency*
  • Theft of Documents*
  • Redundancy*
  • Jury Service*
  • Court Summons*
  • Armed Forces & Emergency Services Recall*
  • Relocated for Work*
  • Changes to Examination Dates*
  • And more

    Extended Cancellation Terms is a service Administered by Refund Protect, and its cost is proportionate to the total amount of your booking that it safeguards at time of purchase. 


    Please be aware that the Extended Cancellation Terms exclusively extend coverage prior to the commencement of your trip and do not encompass refunds during your travels.     How can I add Extended Cancellation Terms to my booking?

    Extended Cancellation Terms is only available to include on your booking at the time of booking. It will appear as an option to add when you are at the payment stage of the booking process.

    If you would like to amend your booking after it has been created to add Extended Cancellation Terms, you must still be within your 7-day cooling-off period. Please call our team or send us an email at support@inspiringvacations.com to process this request.

    Why do I not see an option to add Extended Cancellation Terms while booking online?

    Extended Cancellation Terms is currently only available on our red hot deals on our Australian store. 

    My booking is within cooling-off period and I would like to make a change. How does that impact the price I pay for Extended Cancellation Terms?

    Within the cooling off period any change to the booking that changes the total booking amount (such as adding or removing any upgrades, or extra services), would proportionately increase or decrease the price you pay for Extended Cancellation Terms.

    Any decrease in the price for Extended Cancellation Terms will be refunded together with the relevant refund for the booking component(s) that would have caused the price of the Extended Cancellation Terms to come down in the cooling off period only. 

    How does a change to my booking inside cooling off period impact the amount my booking is eventually protected for?

    Inside the cooling off period, your protected amount is equal to the booking amount, as long as you continue with Extended Cancellation Terms and have paid for it. 

    What is the amount I am protected for after the cooling off period if I have taken Extended Cancellation Terms.

    If there are no alterations to your booking amount post the cooling-off period, you will be covered for the initial Extended Cancellation terms paid amount. Any subsequent increase in the booking amount following the cooling-off period will not be safeguarded by the Extended Cancellation Terms. 

    The refundable amount after the cooling-off period remains the original sum communicated to you via email as covered by the Extended Cancellation Terms.

    If I removed Extended Cancellation Terms from my booking, will my booking still be refundable?

    If you remove Extended Cancellation Terms from your booking, you will adhere to the original Terms set out by Inspiring Vacations which can be found here

    My booking is out of the cooling-off period. Could I add Extended Cancellation Terms to it?

    The option to add Extended Cancellation Terms is limited to at the time of booking only.

    My booking is out of the cooling-off period. Could I remove Extended Cancellation Terms from it?

    Unfortunately, Extended Cancellation Terms can not be removed outside of the 7-day cooling off period.

    How do I apply for a refund if I am unable to travel? 

    In order to apply for a refund, please follow your personalised link to the refund application form which was included in your confirmation email around the time of booking.

    If you cannot find the email, please contact us and we will share the link to your refund application form again.

    Please note that Inspiring Vacations is unable to initiate a refund on your behalf. You will be required to independently submit your refund application, as this process is handled by a Refund Protect.

    Could I apply for a partial refund if some passengers are unable to travel while others are?

    Yes, you can apply for a partial refund on the refund application form. Just fill out the form with relevant refund amount and the number of passengers for which refund is being requested. 

    Do I still need to get travel insurance?

    Yes, travel insurance is still highly recommended for all travelers as Extended Cancellation Terms is not an insurance and simply is an administrator of Refundable services and is only available till the time of your payment & only valid in case, you’re unable to travel due to any genuine unforeseen circumstances mentioned above. Hence, you'll still require travel insurance for any incidents that may occur while travelling, such as:

    • Accidental lost luggage or having it stolen
    • Suffering a medical or dental emergency overseas
    • Getting sick or injured overseas, and more

    Furthermore, any add-ons and changes in your package will not be covered if altered after the cooling off period.
