South American Visa Information

Do I need a visa to travel to countries within South America?

Countries within South America can choose to change their visa and entry requirements on short notice. Below are some guidelines for each country and what to expect.

It is the traveller's responsibility to ensure they have a valid passport. The passport must be valid for a minimum of six months from the intended date of return to your home location.

Argentina
Most passport holders do not require a visa for travel to Argentina. Indian passport holders may still need to apply for an e-visa.

Chile
Chile have had some recent changes to entry requirements. Some countries, including Australia, will need to apply for a visa for entry or transiting purposes. Visitors from some countries are exempt from visa requirements for tourism or business visits of up to 90 days. Others may need to obtain a visa in advance.

If so, you will need:
– Scanned page of passport photo/ personal details
– Scanned passport photograph
– Copy of your itinerary showing confirmed accommodation
– A bank statement to prove financial solvency (showing the previous 3 months)

Applications can be submitted once you are within 90 days of entering Chile. We recommend you start this as soon as you possibly can as there are significant wait times for some areas.
